Socks, Underpants, toothbrush!?!?!? All these things I either hate to shop for, or forget to shop for. There has got to be a better way to remind or acquire these items on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis.

I have an idea of where to get such items, would appreciate better ideas from you all?

Redundant

My position was made redundant yesterday. Im not out of work as such, rather being shifted from a single task role into a larger group of multi task colleagues. This change brings many questions as I have, until now been very autonomys in my role, and now must work with people again. I dont cosider myself the social butterfly, and I know I will clash with a few of my new colleagues – but I was enjoying the single role and the responsibility it gave me.

Whilst I am extremely grateful not to have been axed completely (the news tells me that!), I am unsure as to if I will enjoy, and what to expect.

BTW I have the option to take a redundancy package which after 10 years seems fairly attractive….well it wouldve 12 months ago. What should I do?

Nick Scali Furniture

There is a furniture retailer in Australia named Nick Scali. This retailer sells Bedroom Furniture, Lounge Room Furniture and Outdoor Furniture. They have a great range of products, but I have to travel a long way to see them. i have been searching for a great outdoor setting for a long time and only heard of Nick Scali Furniture through a friend. In fact, I would never have considered these guys had my friend told me. I now know why I had not considered them – they have an invisible website! I could not find any Nick Scali furniture on Google, apart from when I include their brand in the search. Not sure how that all works online, but obviously Nick Scali do not pay Google any money. Their web-site has great info and looks nice, its just so hard to find. Perhaps they could send me a catalogue if its cheaper?

Soggy Cereal

M here. I overheard the funniest story about soggy cereal today from a colleague at work. My colleague was describing the process which she goes through in order to eat a bowl of cereal, as soggy cereal was far from appetising.

First of all, she poured a bowl of cereal, then put some honey on it and then fills a glass with milk. Now this is where the normal process of eating cereal goes out the window. My colleague would then have a spoonful of cereal and then have a sip of milk. This was definitely the first time I have ever heard of anyone eating cereal this way.

Personally, like my colleague I don’t particularly like soggy cereal either, but I choose to eat my cereal the old fashioned way. Though I must admit, there is one cereal that I cannot eat soggy – Weetbix! Soggy Weetbix tastes terrible! Weetbix must be eaten fast once the milk has been added, and if the Weetbix gets too soggy – that’s it no more. We all have our idiosyncrasies, but I still think we all say to ourselves “How weird am I?”

Extra

Wrigleys Asutralia/New Zealand produce a 14 pack of chewing gum called “Extra”. I think the gum is great, tastes good, soft etc etc. But I have to say the packaging for the 14 pack of this brand is quite frustrating. The sticks of gum are individually wrapped, and fit neatly within a flat cardboard pack (sort of like a slime cigarette pack). My main beef is there is a foil liner (again similar t a cigarette pack) that keeps the gum fresh I guess. This foil liner somehow (for some reason) has the individually wrapped sticks of gum cemented/glued/stuck into the packet.

This is extremely frustrating as you almost rip the liner and all sticks out whenever you grab a stick of gum. For pete’s sake Wrigleys, what is going on there?

Singapore Noodles

M wanted to cook Singapore Noodles for dinner tonight. I really wanted to sit down and start my blog… We needed some ingredients to complete the dish so long story short – M decided we should walk to the supermarket (as exercise) and make dinner together.

Anyway, I’ve done all the heavy chopping required and am now sitting back contemplating which direction to take this blog. Perhaps my next entry should fill you in on mythreepeas…?
